The Summer Slow-down

Summer months here on the Ozark campus are more relaxed. With temps frequently passing 100 degrees we move a little more slowly, stay inside when we can, and have time to catch up on projects that get put off during busier seasons.

This year has had its busy-ness and challenge as well. As you probably are aware, our campus director Jim Nizza passed away August 11 after an 8 year battle with cancer. For us as a community this has been a hard couple of weeks. Please continue to lift up Jim's wife Barb and their kids Joel and Crystal as they adjust to life without their husband and father. Also please pray for our staff and ministry as we go through this transition. Jim's wife Barb is taking over as director of the campus. We feel the Lord has a great deal in store for us during this season, we're leaning on Him!

Things that I've (Jen) been keeping occupied with lately (other than one toddler and one crawler!) are my garden, cooking, and a small flock of chickens and turkeys we're raising for eggs and meat. We have 44 acres, many of which are unused, and I enjoy exploring ways for us to become more self-sufficient.

We're gearing up for our DTS, beginning the end of September. We have 10 students accepted (2 are South Koreans!) thus far and have two available spots left. We're pretty excited about the school this year and have seen more interest in it than any other program we've run at our campus yet!

Missed you in Costa Rica too. I was there last month, passed our big house. THanks again for coming that summer, it ruled.
