New mower!

One of my (Josh's) responsibilities here at the campus is maintaining the grounds (fancy way to say mowing the lawn). A 40-acre property is a lot to maintain, and what makes it worse is when you have to fix your mower every time you want to use it. I mow until one breaks. Then I switch to the backup. Then that one breaks, and it's time to fix both. It's a repetitive pattern. With a combination of being gone most of the spring and broken machines, our campus could have been mistaken for a jungle.

One of the mowers is an old tractor with a pull-behind deck. The tractor has a loader on the front, and with the deck on the back, trying to maneuver around buildings and trees with it makes you feel like a semi-driver changing between lanes in heavy traffic. The other mower is made to handle maybe a 2-3 acre lawn. It doesn't handle a significantly bigger area!

Just in the last couple weeks, we were given 2 large donations to go toward a new mower. We were able to purchase a brand new, commercial quality, zero-turn mower. It will cut my mowing time nearly in half, and I don't have to worry about fixing something every time I cut the grass. This was a huge blessing.

I feel like this summer is a preparation time for us here at YWAM Ozarks, to take care of these facilities the Lord has given us, so that we are established and ready for running schools and programs in the future. Having a new lawnmower will make it much easier to do that!
